History
Borshow Hospital & Medical Supplies, Inc., in Puerto Rico was founded in 1951 as a family company dedicated to the installation and repair of Radiology equipment. Quickly became a distribution company for medical products, diagnostic equipment, pharmaceuticals and specialized products both for a hospital environment as well as for care at home.
In 1986, Borshow Hospital and Medical Supplies became the second distributor in Puerto Rico admitted to the National Association of drug stores (NWDA).
In 2008 Borshow Hospital and Medical Supplies was acquired by Cardinal Health, expanding the corporate presence outside the United States.
In 2010 Cardinal Health, with the continuing of the expansion of its corporate presence, acquired BioArtis.
In 2011 Jon and Galina Borshow announced their retirement and completed the transition of the leadership of the company to an Executive Group with extensive experience in sales, marketing, finance, technology, operations and human resources.
Cardinal Health Puerto Rico became the trade name of the company, introducing the Cardinal Health brand to customers.
In January 2011 Cardinal Health acquired Abbot Diagnostics, creating a powerful union to our offerings for the care of patients.
Cardinal Health PR acquired the Pharma division of Drogería Central in May 2013 and in December of the same year acquired F. Baragaño Pharmaceuticals.
In October 2015 Cardinal Health PR acquired Cordis assuring better access to quality medical products worldwide.
